Translink is a specialist in the field of transaction processing of travel movements in the Netherlands, it’s the company behind the OV chip card. The client was challenged by high on-promise infrastructure costs and reliability, low application performance and high system complexity. The old platform was difficult to scale and maintain.
To solve client challenges, we developed a brand new custom application. The old CMS-based solution was replaced by a cloud serverless web app, fully utilizing the security, scalability and global availability of Azure services. As part of the project, we also designed and created a new CMS-based corporate website. The new layout and support for mobile devices meet all modern standards. The product we created was designed as a serverless solution that runs on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. Azure is a turn-key delivery platform for modern applications that offers a broad range of managed services for all application scenarios, allowing one to choose the best approach for cloud-native applications. In addition, cloud serverless computing is the solution for infrastructure limitations that typically stop companies from innovation and global expansion.
The new product utilizes many services, including App Service, different types of storage (SQL Server, BLOB and CosmosDB) as well as Azure Active Directory B2C to support multifactor authentication for the external users. In addition, the application is integrated with Translink Active Directory to enable SSO for internal users and administrators.
